Like most people I have been watching (and hooked on) The Traitors lately and it’s got me thinking about truth and honesty in business. It’s such a good show, full of lies, bluffing and hidden agendas but it made me realise how different that is from how we have to work in real life.
In business (especially in accountancy), trust is everything. Clients rely on us to be straight with them even when the news isn’t great or the conversation’s uncomfortable.
It’s not always easy to be completely honest, but in the long run, it always pays off. People remember who they can trust.
So while The Traitors is great entertainment, it’s also a good reminder that honesty really is the best policy in business.
