This years AB Accountancy Christmas party we went for something a little different and spent the afternoon at TNR Outdoors in Llangollen doing Axe Throwing, Archery and Rifle Shooting followed by a lovely meal at Fouzi’s. Trying something different and sharing a few laughs away from desks and deadlines gave everyone the chance to relax and connect on a more human level. No job titles, no client pressures just colleagues enjoying each other’s company.
The meal afterwards was the perfect way to round off the day. Sitting around the table, talking about everything but work (mostly!), reminded us that strong teams aren’t built in meetings alone they are built through shared experiences.
While staff should obviously be valued all year around I do think Christmas is a time to really show it and say thankyou for the team for their hard work throughout the year. When I was an employee I always felt under valued when companies ran Christmas parties out of working hours meaning you had to give up your personal time and even worse charged you for going. It screams of a token gesture to me. Therefore at AB Accountancy we shut the office for an afternoon and hit the company credit card hard. I believe the lost time at desks is more than made up for in shared experiences and team bonding.
